We have been so excited for our first fundraising event, and it didn’t disappoint! On Sunday 14^th  May, we were very privileged to be able to sit and converse with the awesome Roz Savage MBE, the only woman to date to row solo across the Indian, Pacific and of course Atlantic Ocean.

Alongside holding four Guinness World Records for rowing, Roz is also an environmental campaigner and author of no less than four fantastic books. Our ‘Curated Conversation’ was enjoyed by all, especially us, as we heard tales of Whale Sharks, flying Squid and the secrets to training for an ocean row (or not!!).

We were incredibly grateful to all those who came to experience a unique evening in St Davids City Hall, thrilled to have two of our sponsors in the audience; VIP Wales and Voneus Broadband; as well as support from the local Steiner School as they raised money selling delicious cakes raising money for their year 7 and 8 final adventure, inter-railing across Europe.

A real collaboration of efforts with a special thank you to Honey Fungus for providing us with sound and lights, Penny from Pembrokeshire Flower Farm for the beautiful bouquet for our guest speaker and Steve from Webzer IT for the ability to take card payments and plug in a projector!! How lucky are we to have such an incredible community to support us through our Atlantic journey, we honestly can’t thank you enough.

Last but not least, a huge thank you must go to the incredible Roz Savage, your humour, honesty and eloquence with which you spoke made the evening unforgettable… Thank You Roz!
